Siddharth was born in Chennai, India, to parents who spoke Tamil at home. The DAV Boys High School in Chennai and the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Delhi were his first educational institutions. Then, he went to Kirori Mal College in New Delhi and graduated with an Honors degree in Commerce. At the university where he studied, Siddharth served as president of the debate society and competed at the World Debating Championships.

Siddharth chose a career in filmmaking after earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; she worked as Mani Ratnam’s assistant before making her feature film debut in S.
