SonyLIV on-boards G Dhananjayan As Head for Tamil Content
Sony Pictures Networks India has confirmed that the appointment of Dr. G. Dhananjayan as the Head for Sony Liv Tamil Content, digital business, for its streaming service in Tamil language. Kollywood film producer Dhananjayan will lead the SONY Liv for its expansion in Tamil Cinema. He will be responsible for curating and strengthening the Tamil content catalogue. Prior to this, he was associated with BOFTA – Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy. Dhananjayan has a 25 years of vast experience in management, mainly in film production houses of Tamil Cinema Industry.
Dr.G. Dhananjayan has held key leadership positions in film production houses, marketing and distribution divisions across Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi languages. His also worked for many leading conglomerates such as Kansai-Nerolac Paints, Saregama-HMV, Airtel, Vodafone, Moser Baer Entertainment, and Disney-UTV. Dr. Dhananjayan has multiple accolades in his credit, including a Ph.D. doctorate in the film business and the title of a National Award-winning author, twice for his exemplary work on Cinema.
Tamil film personalities already known about the capabilities of Dhananjayan in leading a team, Under his leadership BOFTA has reached many milestones. Moreover, he has a good knowledge in Film-making, judging movies and film trade business. Keeping all this in mind, Sony Liv is expecting a good growth for their Tamil addition under the leadership of Dhananjayan.
Dhananjayan was last produced Kabadadaari movie in Tamil and Telugu languages. The Tamil version did well at Box Office while the Telugu version is a big flop. Kabadadaari is the remake of Kannada film Kavaludaari.
