She played a techie in Francis’s Call Me @ and a reporter in Nandu’s Thekku Thekkoru Desathu. She’ll play the main character in the upcoming Lucia, directed by Pawan Kumar in Kannada. It was her first time dubbing herself into a film, and she performed two roles in it, one of a middle-class girl and one of an actress. Lucia was so successful that it was reproduced in several different Indian languages.

Rediff included Sruthi in their list of the 2013 Most Impressive Kannada Movie Debuts due to her stellar performance. She had another role in the following year’s Kannada film, Dyavre. Critics were overwhelmingly positive toward the film. Director Harsha offered her a part in his film Bhajarangi, which would have starred Shivraj Kumar, but she was unable to accept the role. In Jacob Varghese’s road movie Savaari 2 from 2014, she played the love interest of Srinagara Kitty’s character. After that, she starred in Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s debut Tamil film as a director. Soon after the release of Lucia, she filmed A. P. Arjun’s Rhaate, for which she had already contracted. In the film, she played the role of a simple country girl.

She was working on two films at once for her next feature: Rajath Mayee’s Kannada film Sipaayi and Nila, an independent art film from Tamil Nadu. She has also committed to starring in the next films Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu, directed by Hemanth Rao, and Ra Ra Rajasekhar, the next feature film from filmmaker Balaji Sakthivel. He was known as Godhi Banna. The success of Sadharna Mykattu continued both in critical acclaim and at the box office. She garnered positive feedback for her portrayal of Dr. Sahana. Afterwards, she made an appearance in Maadha Mathu Manasi, which was directed by Mano Murthy and starred him as the lead. Urvi, directed by B.S. Pradeep Varma, and Beautiful Manasugalu, both starring her, propelled her to even greater fame in Kannada cinema.

She appeared in films of many different genres, finding a happy medium between commercial and performance-oriented parts. Her next film appearance was as a psoriasis-stricken bedridden patient in the Kannada ensemble piece Happy New Year. She first found popularity opposite Kannada actor Darshan in the box office hit Tarak, and then she appeared in the bilingual film Vismaya(Kannada), which was dubbed Nibunan in Tamil. Kurukshetra, the Telugu translation of Vismaya, has not yet been made available to the public. Solo, directed by Bejoy Nambiar, starred her opposite Dulquer Salmaan, continuing her career in Tamil and Malayalam cinema.

Later, she appeared alongside Kannada film legends Upendra and Prema in the film Upendra Mathe Baa. In her prime, she was a part of the new generation of Kannada films, Humble Politician Nograj, alongside Danish Sait and Sumukhi Suresh, in which she played a supporting role and received universal acclaim. Later, she starred in Nathicharami, directed by Mansore and nominated for a National Award, with Sanchari Vijay, and received much more praise. When asked who might play a role who sheds light on the sexual requirements of unmarried women in urban middle-class communities, film critic Karthik Kermanu said, “There isn’t a finer actor than Sruthi.” You can see the weariness of ordinary life in her eyes. Her performance was described as “simple, nuanced, and FLAWLESS” by Cinestaan’s Keyur Seta. At the moment, she can be seen working with Chiranjeevi Sarja and Chaitanya KN on the movie Aadya.
