Verdict
We have come across many action movies in Hollywood that has the secret agent as the main point and the situations surrounding him. The Gray Man is kind of James Bond movie with a very pacy screenplay and filled with a lot of action sequences. However the script looks very cliched and despite the wonderful performances and action episodes, movie looks flat for most of the part. Most of the scenes can be expected by a regular movie watcher and very few scenes makes the audience excited.
Ryan Gosling as Sierra Six is perfect, Chris Evans as ruthless and psychotic Lloyd Hansen is commendable. Ana de Armas and Jessica Henwick were decent in their roles. Dhanush as Avik San may not meet the expectations of the audience, as the role looks very flat and used for just few action scenes and has no importance. His role might disappoint his fans. All the other actors performed well in their respective roles.
The background score provided by Henry Jackman sets up the required elevation for the scenes, especially during the action scenes. Action choreography was brilliant and as all Hollywood movies, this movie has its rich production values. Director duo Russo Brothers could have worked a little more on the script. Despite of some brilliant performances from the lead actors, script makes it look a little disappointing as the expectations are sky high.
Finally, The Gray Man is an action thriller, that can be watched for it’s action but not the thrill.
