Trisha Krishnan was born into an Iyer family from Palakkad, Tamil Nadu. Krishnan, her late father, was the General Manager of a five-star hotel in Hyderabad. Sadly, he passed away in October of 2012. Uma Krishnan is the name of her mother.

Her first film role was in the 1999 Tamil film “Jodi,” where she played “Gayathri’s pal.” Praveen Gandhi helmed the movie. Then, she and Ayesha Takia starred in the music video for “Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye” by Falguni Pathak.
