A fellow FTII hopeful named Dheeraj Nandakumar approached Vinay for advice on getting into FTII’s acting programme and informed him about the impending audition for Shyamaprasad’s movie (Ritu). Vinay’s life changed forever when Shyamaprasad cast him in a leading part in his film Ritu (2009). Vinay Fort made his acting debut in Shyamaprasad’s Ritu (2009), playing a little yet memorable role as a gay character.
