Movie Verdict
Conflicting elements of comedy and drama that involve neither sin nor sins While these elements succeed in Jabardast, all a film really needs to succeed on the big screen is a tight and engaging story, and Wanted: PanduGod feels like an extended version of TV skits; there isn’t a single moment in the film that makes you feel like you’re watching a film. However, the film will undoubtedly engage those who love small screens skits, and if we accept this premise, there are many humorous moments.
Wanted PanduGod is reminiscent of a handful of Bollywood films, including Dhamaal and Golmaal, but the non-sinc comedy that made those films so successful decades ago simply doesn’t fly in 2018. The film’s cast of well-known TV actors may have given in to Ragavendra Rao, and that’s for the best, but the director’s insistence on leaving his personal stamp on the production makes for an awkward romantic number or two.
Every member of the cast, from lead actor Suni to supporting players Anasuya, Sudheer, Saptagiri, Srinivas Reddy, Vennela Kishore, and heroines Vishnu Priya and Deepika Pillai, did a fantastic job with their roles.
Sreedhar Seepana is a writer in his own right, but he was unable to keep our attention throughout the film; Ragavendra Rao steals more of the spotlight than he does.
Wanted PanduGod’s technical execution is ordinary; director Mahi Reddy Pandugula’s oversaturated graphics and composer P.rweak ‘s song and score let down an otherwise competent picture, but the other technical departments did their best to meet the film’s needs.
Wanted PanduGod is, in the end, nothing more than a standard comedy-drama, suitable solely for fans of TV spoofs.
