Vishal Veeru Devgan, better known as Ajay Devgn, was born on April 2, 1969, in New Delhi, India. He currently resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. As an Aries, that’s his astrological label. Some of his pals call him Ajay, while others prefer Raju. He went from having the surname Devgan to having the surname Devgn on the advise of numerologists. He is well-known for his daring acts, especially his ability to balance on the handles of two speeding motorcycles. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri for his outstanding contributions.
His parents, Veeru Devgan (a stunt choreographer and action film director) and Veena Devgan (a film producer), are members of the Saraswat Brahmin caste. Devgan’s sister, Neelam, is one of his siblings. Anil Devgan, his cousin, is also a filmmaker. By faith, he is a Hindu. Their wedding to actress Kajol took place on February 24, 1999. They have two children: a girl, Nysa, born in 2003, and a son, Yug, born in 2010.
Ajay Devgn Career
When he was only a youngster, he made his acting debut in the film Pyari Behna. His character, Kalicharan, was a big hit with audiences. In 1991’s Phool Aur Kaante, a Bollywood film, he landed his first lead role, that of Ajay. Reviews were generally favorable, and he even won an award for best male debut from the publication Filmfare. After that, he was cast in a string of box office smashes.
For the 1994 picture Madam X, he assisted director Deepak Shivdasani. His production firm, Ajay Devgn Films, was established in the year 2000, and the film Raju Chacha was its inaugural release (2000). Additionally, he was the executive producer for several television series, including Devi (2002–2004) and Swami Ramdev – Ek Sangharsh (2018).
In 1991, Ajay Devgn made his professional acting debut in the film Phool Aur Kaante, for which he was later honoured with the Filmfare Award for best male debut. Jigar (1992), Sangram (1993), Vijaypath (1994), Dilwale (1994), Suhaag (1994), Naajayaz (1995), Diljale (1996), and Ishq (1997) were among the subsequent hits he appeared in. While appearing in Mahesh Bhatt’s 1998 movie Zakhm, he won his first National Film Award for Best Actor. His role as Vanraj in 1999’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, in which he attempted to reunite his wife and lover, was the subject of much discussion.
In addition, in the year 2000, Devgn founded his own production company called Ajay Devgn Films. His first film as director, U Me Aur Hum, came out in 2008. He’s been with his wife, the actress Kajol, since 1999, and they have two kids together. Devgn legally changed his last name from Devgan to Devgn in August 2009.
