Anil Kapoor Biography

Anil Kapoor Education

As a high school student, he studied at Our Lady of Perpetual Succor in Mumbai. He enrolled at St. Xavier’s College after graduating high school, but he was eventually kicked out due to sporadic class attendance.

Anil Kapoor Early Life

On December 24, 1956 (he is 62 years old as of 2018), Anil Kapoor was born in Bombay, India. During his time at university, he was active in both the theatre and athletics departments. One could not quite say that Anil Kapoor was handed a silver platter at birth. As his father was just starting out in the film industry, he and his seven siblings all shared a single room in the Mumbai district of Chembur. Bollywood was a major part of his formative years. He had dreamed of a career in the spotlight ever since he was a young boy. His acting debut came when he was just 12 years old, in a film that ultimately never saw the light of day.

Anil Kapoor is the son of the late, legendary film producer Surinder Kapoor and Nirmal Kapoor, both Punjabis. Sanjay Kapoor, an actor, is his younger brother; the two are related to Indian film producer Boney Kapoor. His sister’s name is Reena Kapoor, and he has two other brothers. He married Sunita Bhambhani on May 19, 1984, shortly after the release of his first critically acclaimed film. Having three children is a tremendous blessing for this couple. His eldest daughter, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor, is an actress in her own right.

His youngest daughter, Rhea Kapoor, is a producer in the Bollywood film industry, while his youngest son, Harshvardhan Kapoor, is also an actor. There are three nephews in the Kapoor family: Arjun Kapoor (Boney Kapoor’s son), Mohit Marwah (Reena Kapoor’s son), and Jahaan Kapoor (Sanjay Kapoor’s son). His nieces are Anshula Kapoor, Jhanvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Shanaya Kapoor, all of whom are the offspring of Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor.

Anil Kapoor Career

In 1979, Anil made his acting debut in a small role in the film “Hamare Tumhare.” Anil Kapoor had to fight for his starring role in the 1983 film “Wo Saat Din,” which he eventually received.

It wasn’t until 1984, when films like “Mashaal” and “Meri Jung” were released, that Anil became a household name among moviegoers. With the success of “Mr. India,” in which he co-starred with his sister-in-law Sridevi, Anil Kapoor shot to fame.

Five Filmfare awards and a National Film Institute Best Actor award for his performance in “Pukar” changed the course of his career. Soon after, he became a household name in Indian cinema. He has produced the films “Badhaai Ho Badhaai” (2002) and “Gandhi, My Father,” in addition to acting in them.

As well as appearing in a number of Bollywood films, Anil Kapoor also made a cameo in the 2008 British film “Slumdog Millionaire.” Following its initial success at the Golden Globes, the film also received ten nominations for the Academy Awards. He made an appearance on the American TV series “24” in 2010. Another Hollywood film he was in was “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” released in 2011.
