On September 5, 1976 (he would be 46 years old in 2022), Pankaj Tripathi was born in Beland, a tiny town in the Gopalganj region of Bihar, India. Tripathi was sent to Patna by his father, who hoped against hope that his son would one day become a doctor. While he was a student there, he joined the American Student V.P. and became politically involved on campus. As a speaker, he had a lot of charisma and charm. Pankaj was also an accomplished athlete, having competed for his university at the High Jump and 100-meter sprint. After finishing college, he enrolled in a Hotel Management school and worked as a “chef” at the Hotel Maurya for two years.

Pankaj’s parents are devout Hindus. His mother, Hemwanti, is a housewife, while his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, is a farmer and a priest. Aashi Tripathi is his daughter with wife Mridula; they tied the knot on January 15, 2005; he has three older brothers and two older sisters.

After moving to Patna, the actor found himself increasingly interested in the performing arts. He started checking out local theatre productions in an effort to gauge interest in a possible acting career of his part. In 1995, he appeared under Vijay Kumar’s direction in a stage adaptation of Bhism Sahni’s Leela Nandlal. His role was small, and he played a local thief. The public and the press both praised his performance. After that, he began performing regularly in theatres and did so for the next four years.

Pankaj moved to Delhi after living in Patna for 7 years. He decided to pursue acting and enrolled at the National School of Drama, from which he ultimately graduated in 2004. After that, he spent four months performing in Patna’s theatre scene.

Tripathi relocated to Mumbai on October 16th, 2004, and appeared as an extra in the Abhishek Bachchan and Vijay Raaz film Run. Before his breakout role in the TV drama “Gulal,” he had a number of bit parts in movies and TV shows.

As Pankaj was wrapping up filming on Gulal, he got a call to try out for Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur. The audition lasted for eight hours, and he got the part of Sultan. A number of directors approached him after seeing his performance in the film and said they wanted to work with him again. Critics and viewers alike praised his efforts in Fukrey, Manjhi: The Mountain Man, and Masaan.
