Verdict
Malayalam film industry is undoubtedly the best in producing the movies with good content and new kind of making style. Though Malayalam movies are made on minimum budget, makers from Malayalam film industry always sweat harder to bring out the best output. Christopher is one such thriller that has so much of effort in making.
Movie starts off interestingly and the narration of Christopher’s back story and the connection between Vinay Rai & Mammootty are well established. With so many notable actors in the movie, it became more interesting as movie proceeds further. Interval of the movie has some interesting revelations, making us wait for the later half of the movie. Second half of the movie will completely make you stick to the screen with many engaging scenes.
While it comes to performances, Mammootty has already turned 70, but while watching him on screen, we might never feel his age, as he looks energetic as always. He did role very convincingly without any hiccups. Vinay Rai has been casted for a role that has become a cakewalk for him after his appearance from ‘Thupparivaalan’. Sneha and Amala Paul were good with their limited roles. Shine Tom Chacko, Siddique and all other actors did their part as required for the characters.
Technically Christopher movie is very good. Music composed by Justin Varghese is apt for the proceedings and added the intense needed for few scenes. Cinematography handled by Faiz Siddik is another highlight of this movie. His frames are shady that brings the mood of a thriller. Production values are very good.
Director Unnikrishnan successfully handled the story provided by Uday Krishna and executed it very well keeping the audience engaged till the last scene. But he could have focused a little more on the pace, that looked draggy for few scenes.
Overall, Christopher is another interesting thriller movie from Malayalam film industry that definitely has the potential to be remade into other languages.
