Movie Verdict

Although the main tale takes some time to get into, the premise and tone hook you from the start and make you care about the outcome. The slow-moving narration can get boring at times, but once an evil force enters the scene and you see how everyone in her family tries to save her after she is struck in different parts of the city due to lockdown, things pick up. The first half of the movie had just the right amount of emotion rather than horrifying scenes, which gave the movie a unique look for a horror movie.

Even though there isn’t an intermission, the intermission bangs in with a wonderful twist, and after that, the movie gets even more exciting as events unravel and keep you riveted to your seat. The tale has several issues, but the main theme hits home, and there are some unexpected turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. The conclusion could have been stronger, but the narration is the movie’s major flaw, and if you can endure it for 90 minutes you will have an unforgettable experience.

Speaking of the performances, the female superstar Nayanthara does an excellent job as a single mother; her character was well written and has many dynamics, and she pulled it off with ease. Satyaraj, who has less screen time, also gave an excellent performance, and Anupam Kher, who plays a spiritual pastor, gave his all. The rest of the cast also gave their best efforts.

Connect excels in terms of technology. With his magnificent images and colour palette, Manikantan Krishnamachary draws you into the world of Connect and makes you feel like a part of it. Prithvi Chandrasekhar did a respectable job of delivering the background score, while the rest of the technical team did their best.

Connect is also a brilliant story, and this time he showed human emotions during lockdown rather than horrific elements, but he made sure to show his mark twists in the tale. Connects lacks the spine-chilling moments when compared to Mayuri and Game Over films, but he succeeded in engaging the audience with emotion. Ashwin Saravanan is always impressed with his stories, even though the stories have horror elements, and he made them unique stories with his brilliant writing.

Overall, Connect is a movie that everyone in the audience can enjoy and is a must-see for a distinctive experience.
