Series Verdict
We have seen many series to date that are made in Romance, Action, Comedy, and Thriller genres. We very rarely see the supernatural thriller series in any language. Dahan is one such series that offers a new genre to watch, but the making and scenes written in the series look very dull and don’t create any impact with the writing. Though horror scenes from a few episodes worked out well, we have already seen such scenes in many movies and those scenes don’t excite us. In this 9-episode series, we find only 1 or 2 episodes interesting, when we binge-watch all episodes.
While it comes to acting, Tisca Chopra did her best to pull off the series with her performance, but the weak writing and making don’t allow her to do so. Saurabh Shukla’s screen presence looks terrific and he had done a splendid job. Rajesh Tailang gave a decent performance and all other actors did their part well as required for the proceedings.
Technically, the Dahan series looks very average. The Music composed is okay and it did not bring chills down the spine when we are watching the horror scenes. The Cinematography handled by Arkodeb Mukherjee is okay in some scenes and looks immature in other scenes. Editing of this series could have been better, to make the audience invest their time to watch this 40-45 minutes long episodes.
Director Vikrant Pawar did not reach the expectations in providing an interesting thriller to watch. However, the director should be appreciated for his raw making in a few scenes and for selecting a new genre to present to the audience.
Overall, Dahan is one of the best super natural thriller series released in Hindi. It might be difficult to watch this series for weak hearted.
