Movie Verdict

Everyone knows that fact that ‘Cuttputlli’ is official remake of the superhit Tamil movie ‘Ratsasan’. Though the movie is a remake, the interest created by the original while watching is completely missing in this remake. There are few changes made to the original to suit the nativity of Hindi audience, but the intensity in the scenes misfired and made this movie boring to watch.

While it comes to the acting, Akshay Kumar looks tired in most of the scenes and gives a feel that the actor is not interested in working in this project. However, he is good in some emotional scenes. Rakul Preet Singh doesn’t suit the role of a teacher and her performance is not up to the mark. All other actors did their part well as needed for the proceedings.

Technically, movie looks okay. Background music composed by Tanishk Bagchi suits the proceedings on screen and created the mood of a thriller. Cinematography by Rajeev Ravi one of the major highlights in the film, it exactly suits the dark mood of the film, though the film is shot in some of the beautiful locations. Production values of the film are up to the mark as required.

Director Ranjit M Tiwari tried to recreate the same world created in Tamill, but few changes made were not that impressive.

Overall, Cuttputlli is yet another remake in Hindi, that will entertain the audience to some extent, if you haven’t watched the original from Tamil.
