From 25 March 2013 through 17 February 2018, a total of 1,466 episodes aired weekly at 8 PM on Sun TV (Monday through Friday at first). This show was the most popular on TRP King for an impressive five years. S. Kumaran’s popular soap opera, Thirumathi Selvam, was cancelled and replaced by Nayagi. Kalaignar TV began airing Deivamagal again on March 1, 2021, and has since extended its rebroadcast to Saturdays at 7:00 p.m.

Vikatan Televistas Pvt Ltd produces and S. Kumaran directs the show. Several locations in Tamil Nadu (including Pollachi, Chennai, Chengalpet, Hyderabad, Kerala, Puducherry, Cuddalore, and One Island for the climactic scene) were used to film this television series. To our knowledge, this is the first television series to be filmed in the Bay of Bengal.

Deivamagal Story
The plot centres on the efforts of Prakash (Krishna), his wife Sathyapriya (Vani Bhojan), and his eldest sister-in-law Gayathri to acquire the family estate Jai Hind Vilas.
As a child, Sathyapriya lives in the affluent village of Poongodi with her family. The couple, Sundaram and Sampoornam, were caring parents. They are Dharani and Anjali, her younger sisters. Sundharam plans Sathya’s wedding to the businessman Karthik. Wedding bells for Karthik and Sathya have been called off. Sundharam has a heart attack and dies because of this. Sathya and her family relocated into Chennai to live with her uncle Devaraj after the passing of Sathya’s father. Sathya and her loved ones endure a lot of hardships there because of Saroja, Devaraj’s selfish wife. After learning that Sundaram had turned down her son Suresh’s marriage proposal to Sathya, Saroja sets out to exact her vengeance on Sathya’s family. Saroja is dead set on expelling Sathya and her family from her premises.
