Shortly after the critical and commercial success of ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi in 2013, Dulquer Salmaan starred in the Tamil comedy series Vaayai Moodi Pesavum in 2014. Towards the end of that same year, Dulquer was in the romantic drama Bangalore Days, which at the time was one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films.
In 2015, Dulquer Salmaan achieved enormous fame in Tamil cinema thanks to Mani Ratnam’s financially successful sentimental serial O Kadhal Kanmani. In the same year, Salmaan also received accolades for playing the lead in the romance drama series Charlie. In recognition of his promising performance in the film Charlie, he was awarded the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor.
Dulquer Salmaan has a daughter with his wife, the architect and planner Amal Sufiya, whom he wed in 2011.
