Jim received his formal education at the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India, and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Jim Sarbh Early Life

Jim Sarbh entered the world on August 27, 1987, in the Indian city of Mumbai. His work in the 2016 film Neerja, with Sonam Kapoor, earned him widespread acclaim from moviegoers.

His family is a prosperous middle-class Parsi establishment. Before becoming the Regional Director for P&O Ports in South and Middle East Asia, his father was a Master Mariner. His mom works in physical therapy.

Two years into their relationship, he and actress Kalki Koechlin split up.

Jim Sarbh Career

When he was done with school, he went to work as a literary intern at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre, where he performed in several plays, including Ice Glen, The Breakup, The Show!, and Tennis in Nablus, for which he won the Major Supporting Role Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Award. He relocated back to Mumbai in 2012 and immediately found work in the theatre industry. Among the many plays he’s worked on are Death of a Salesman, Ok Tata Bye Bye, Gates to India Song, Limbo, Cock, The Glass Menagerie, Noises Off, Eat!, Bull, and many more.

His first film in the Bollywood industry was 2016’s Ajeeb Aashiq. Screenings of the film took place at the Rotterdam International Film Festival on February 2. All three of these films, together with Neerja and Yashodhara and 3 1/2 Takes, were released in the same year. He also appeared in several short films, including Mama’s Boys by Akshat Verma and Like Summer, Like Rain by Gouri Dutt.
