Series Verdict

Kathmandu Connection season 1 has raised the curiosity with the starting few episodes but failed with the narration and emotional connect with the audience in the later episodes. Season 1 has ended on a disappointing note, but it is surprising that makers have come up with season 2 and it might be due to any contracts between the makers and OTT platforms to end the series completely. Season 2 doesn’t create any interest to the viewers from the very first episode. It keeps getting more uninteresting with each and every episode ending with no surprises at all. There are few scenes from different episodes that could create some excitement but the narration drops the excitement very soon.

While it comes to acting performances, Amit Sial is the saving grace of this thriller series. He tried to carry the whole series on his shoulders with his performance. Aksha Pardasany look pretty in this season and did her part well as required for the character. Anshumaan Pushkar is another actor who can entertain with any character offered to him. Anurag Arora, Gopal Datt and all other actors did their part well as required for the proceedings of this series.

Technically Kathmandu Connection series looks okay. Background score composed by Sneha Khanwalkar is good and it adds up the intense required for many scenes in the series. Cinematography by Arun Kumar Pandey is one of the major plus points in this series, as the visuals brings the dark mood to the series and makes us involved in it though the proceedings are not that interesting. Production values of this series are as required for the story.

Director Sachin Pathak failed to thrill the audience with the content in this season and it looks like he tried to drag scenes more to extend the episodes. It could have been better if he had focused more on some interesting twist and revelations that could excite audience.

Overall. Kathamandu Connection S2 lacks the thrill and intensity needed for a crime thriller. If you love to watch slow and predictable crimes series, you can stream it on Sony Liv OTT platform.

Plus Points:

  • Few scenes from different episodes
  • Cinematography

Minus Points:

  • Predictable Scenes
  • Routine screenplay

Rating: 2.25/5
