Kunal Kapoor Early Life
Kapoor entered into world on October 18, 1977, in Mumbai. Kishore Kapoor Sr. worked in the construction industry, while his mother Kanan sang and did household chores. Both of his parents were born in Amritsar, Punjab. His older siblings are Geeta and Reshma, and he is the youngest.
Kapoor wed Amitabh Bachchan’s niece Naina Bachchan in a small, intimate ceremony in the Seychelles in February 2015. On April 11, 2015, a celebratory meal was hosted in New Delhi. A son was born to the happy parents on January 31st, 2022.
Kunal Kapoor Career
Kapoor studied acting with Barry John and joined the legendary Naseeruddin Shah’s theatre company, Motley. Beginning his career in the film industry, he worked as an assistant director on the Manoj Bajpayee and Amitabh Bachchan film Aks. Starring opposite Tabu, Kapoor made his acting debut in MF Hussain’s 2004 film Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities. Afterwards, he starred alongside Aamir Khan in Rang De Basanti (2006), for which he was nominated for a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.
The film was well-received by critics and audiences alike, earning a spot on the Best Foreign Film nominees list for the 2007 BAFTAs. Kapoor was later offered a three-film deal by Yash Raj Films (YRF). His film credits include Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007), Aaja Nachle (2007), and Bachna Ae Haseeno (2007). (2008). After two years off, Kapoor starred alongside Sanjay Dutt in Rahul Dholakia’s national award–winning film Lamhaa (2010).
Even though the film bombed at the box office, Kapoor was praised for his portrayal of a young Kashmiri politician. “One of the most powerful performances of the year,” said the critics. The same year, Kapoor provided his voice for the Indian god Rama in Raizada Rohit Jaising Vaid’s animated film Mahayoddha Rama. The audience enjoyed his performance in the 2011 film Don 2, which starred Shahrukh Khan. Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, a 2012 lighthearted comedy film directed by Sameer Sharma and starring Kapoor, was written in part by Kapoor.
Critics praised the film, ranking it among the year’s top ten. Kapoor was compared to Matthew McConaughey of the United States in a positive review from The New York Times. Kaun Kitne Paani Mein, a quirky comedy released in 2014, featured him. Veeram, directed by National Award winner Jayaraj and starring Kapoor, Gauri Shinde, and Tigmanshu Dhulia, is an epic action trilingual film about the trials of the Indian National Army. In 2017, he starred alongside Akshay Kumar for the first time in Gold, a film about the first Indian hockey team to win an Olympic gold medal. On August 15, 2018, it was made public.
