Mohan Babu Wiki and Biography: Indian actor and producer Manchu Bhakthavatsalam Naidu, better known by his stage name Mohan Babu. He is well known for his roles in Telugu film. Mohan Babu graduated from the Madras Film Institute and has since appeared in over 500 films.

His performance in the 1995 multi-starrer Pedarayudu, in which Rajinikanth also played a significant role, earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. Following his performance in Yamadonga, he was honored with the CineMAA Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2007.

Mohan Babu Education

After graduating from elementary education in Yerpedu, he moved on to Tirupati’s S.P.J.N.M High School. As early as the age of 14, Mohan Babu showed an interest in acting and began performing in school productions.

His dad was a principal, and he always encouraged him to go into teaching. During this time, Mohan Babu relocated to Chennai, where he attended and graduated from the YMCA College of Physical Education with a degree in the field of PE.

The city of Chennai is where he earned his degree in the field of physical education (Erstwhile Madras). Before making his debut in the Telugu cinema business, he worked briefly as a physical education teacher. Mohan Babu spent roughly five years in the early 1970s directing. Acting-wise, he stepped into the spotlight with the film Swargam Narakam (1977).

With his own style of delivering lines, Mohan Babu proves to be a talented actor. He has appeared in over 510 films, with 216 of those being starring roles. Mohan Babu met Dasari Narayana Rao, a screenwriter in Tollywood at the time. In retrospect, this turns out to be the turning point in his career. The Dasari Narayana Rao-directed film Swargam Narakam from 1975 marked Mohan Babu’s first prominent role. Dasari made a huge success in the film in which he portrayed the antagonist. After this film’s success, he was given the stage name Mohan Babu instead of his birth name, Bakthavatsalam Naidu.

After making his name as a comedic antagonist in a number of films, he went on to headline such films as Khaidi Kalidasu, Ketugadu, Gruhapravesham, Assembly Rowdy, Allari mogudu, and a slew of others. Mohan Babu, an artist at heart, was attracted to the occurrences in Tamil Cinema after his triumph in Telugu Cinema. Once Sivaji Ganesan gave him the green light to work in the Tamil film industry, Mohan Babu’s filmography shows him playing a wide variety of parts in over 20 films.

Next, he went on to Rayalaseema. Rowdy (2005), Game (2006), Yamadonga (2007), Krishnarjuna (2008), Bujjigadu (2008), Raju Maharaju (2009), Saleem (2009), Jhummandi Naadam (2010), Rowdy (2014), Yamaleela 2 (2014), and Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu (2015) are some examples (2015). Gayatri, a film about the importance of family, was released on February 9 of this year. In the movie, he played the part of the late, great S. V. Ranga Rao.
