He is also fluent in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Kannada in addition to Tamil, Urdu, English, Arabic, and Telugu. For the South Indian community, he played a pivotal role. He attended St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School in Chengalpattu and then transferred to Madras to finish his undergraduate degree at Madras Christan College. Nassar Early Life
The film Kalyana Agathigal, directed by K. Balachander, marked the beginning of his successful acting career. During that time, he went under the full name of Nasser Muhammad. In 1985, he made his way into the movie business. Around 300 films in all (across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English) feature him in some capacity. In addition, he had success in television series.
His star rose to prominence after starring in the Mahendran-directed telefilm Kaattuppookkal and the Senathibathi-directed film Panagaadu. He became well-known thanks to his roles in popular television shows including Neela Mala, Chiththirappaavai, Vaana Veethi, and Avalukkentru Oru Idam.
Nassar Career
Nassar made his acting debut as a supporting actor in the film Kalyana Agathigal, directed by the illustrious K.Balachander. After then he began playing bad guys in films like S.P.Muthuraman’s Velaikaran and Vanna Kanavugal. He broke through after playing a police officer in Mani Ratnam’s film Nayagan. He went on to appear in numerous films by Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, including Roja, Thevar Magan, Bombay, and Kuruthipunal, after this part.
Nassar made his directing debut with the film “Avatharam,” which depicts the struggles of a folk art group. Though it wasn’t a box office smash, this film received positive reviews from critics. Following this, he made ‘Devathai’ a film on rebirth. He went on to complain that his hectic schedule prevented him from appearing in the critically acclaimed film Lagaan.
He continued to perform throughout the 1990s, appearing in films including Jeans, Minsara Kanavu, Iruvar, and many more. Nassar typically portrays antagonistic or recurring characters. In the box office smash Baahubali: The Beginning, he played the role of Bhallala Deva’s disabled father.
Phir Milenge (2004), Rowdy Rathore (2012), The Ghazi Attack (2017), Serious Men (2020), Thalaivii (2021), etc. are just a few of the Hindi films in which he appeared. Even in the web series Victim – Who is next? (Sony LIV), Nassar has a significant part to play.
