Ponniyin Selvan 1, also known as PS 1, was Maniratnam’s dream project, and it was released on September 30, 2022, despite the fact that it was a Maniratnam film, though it didn’t create much hype. Story
After a fight with Pandiyas, Jayam Ravi’s character Arulmozhi Varman and Karthi’s character Vandhiyathevan drowned in the sea at the end of PS 1. The face of Oomai Rani was also shown in the end credits of the first movie, which confused fans because Aishwarya Rai also plays the character.

PS 2 is going to be much better, and bigger than the first one and everyone across the world has been waiting for the release the wait is over the film is all set to make fire on April 28, 2023. if you want to watch the full movie then you need to wait until the release and you can watch on the OTT platform after the theatrical release the PS 2’s digital right has been acquired by Amazon Prime Video and we can expect the film on OTT after the 60 days of theatrical run.

PS 1 and PS 2 were budgeted for around 500 crores as Maniraatnam made both parts in just 150days to save the budget but as per the source, PS2’s budget was increased for better visual effects as we can say that PS 2 was made on a budget around 350 crores. However, PS 1 was the highest collected film in Tamil as it was collected around 400 crores and now expectations are sky high for PS 2, and trade analysts hoping that the film will open a mind-boggling number on its first day.
