Verdict

The biggest USP of this series is Venkatesh and Rana, Venkatesh is known for family films but for the first time he has seen never before character and that’s what grabbed the viewer’s attention. The series has brilliant premises which slowly make you part of it, as the first two episodes have nothing much to excite, we can see Rana’s world-building, his family life, and how much he hates his father Naga, which makes us curious to know.

Once his father Naga played by Venkatesh released from jail, from then on the right amount of drama makes you invested in the story. Though the narration is a bit slow you will relate to what’s happening on screen. The series is a mix of multiple genres, it starts off with action crime, then shifts into a family drama. Rana Naidu doesn’t offer you much thrill and cliffhangers but it shows human nature, even though he is a criminal, he has emotions, he made mistakes and he tries to fix them and the rivalry between father and son, all these points with a blend of action are the good things about the series.

Show stealer Venkatesh as Naga has done a phenomenal job, we all how brilliant an actor he is but this grey character is quite new to him and he portrayed it effortlessly. Rana is good but it doesn’t challenge much to perform, Survin Chawla, Ashish Vidywarthi, Sushant Singh, Gaurav Chopra, and others did their part well.

Karan Anshuman & Suparn Varma brilliantly adapted the story for the Indian audience, but it seems like they made this series for the Hindi audience, casting popular Telugu actors but the Telugu dubbing was horrible, they should have shot the series in Telugu and Hindi. However, they succeeded in engaging the viewers.

Technically, Rana Naidu looks top-notch, Jayakrishna Gummadi’s cinematography is good, Jhon Stewart Eduri’s music is the plus point for the series, and the rest of the technical team did well.

Overall, Rana Naidu is an emotional drama with a blend of action.

Plus Points:

  • Venkatesh
  • Rana
  • Background Music

Minus Points:

  • Slow Narration
  • Less Thrill

Rating: 2.75/5
