She attended grades Pre-K through 5 at Stanes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Coonoor. She graduated high school in 2001 from Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Thrissur. She graduated with a BA in journalism from Christ University, Bengaluru.

Rima Kallingal Early Life

In a small ceremony on November 1, 2013, Rima wed director Aashiq Abu in the Kakkanad Registration office in Kochi. During the celebration, they gave away one million rupees to help poor cancer patients at the General Hospital in Ernakulam, and another twenty-five thousand to cover the costs of the hospital’s dietary kitchen for one day.

Rima Kallingal, a dancer from Kerala who was born in Thrissur, started dancing at the age of three. Her day job is as a dancer, and she’s performed with the Nritarutya dance company on stages all around the world.  She is also an expert in the martial arts of Kalari (Africa), Chao (Myanmar), and Taekwondo (Korea).

On Asianet’s reality competition show Vodafone Thakadhimi, she made it to the show’s semi-finals. She relocated to Bengaluru in search of a modelling career and competed in the Miss Kerala pageant, where she placed second to eventual winner Shree Thulasi on the show’s tie-breaker.

After seeing her on a magazine cover, director Lal Jose cast her as a goat herder in the Tamil film Mazhai Varappoguthu. However, filmmaker Shyamaprasad offered her the role of Varsha in his film Ritu, and she made her acting debut as a result. She played a role in the film at the age of 25.

She had a breakout role in the 2012 box office and critical hit 22 Female Kottayam. For her performance as Tessa, she got several accolades and even some awards. The Best Actress Award given out by the government of Kerala was another one of her many victories. After the release of 22 Female Kottayam, she admitted that she had made mistakes in her career, saying, “Yes, I have done a few films I never should have, but I am resolved not to repeat those mistakes.”

When the Mazhavil Manorama show “Midukki” was created in 2013, Kallingal became the host. A ban was placed on her by the Kerala Film Chamber as a result, but it was later lifted. Mamangam, her own dance school in Kochi, Kerala, was founded by her in 2014.
