Sayani Gupta was born in Calcutta, West Bengal, on October 9, 1985, a Wednesday. His father, Kamal Gupta, worked at All India Radio and was a musician. Maitreyi Gupta, her mother, used to work for BSNL in Kolkata. Bhairav Gupta and Ahir Gupta are her two brothers. She’s not yet settled down.

She began working at Indian Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. in the marketing and sales division after receiving her degree. She quit her job and relocated to Mumbai in September 2011 to pursue an acting career. She has performed in a number of theatre productions, including “Trivial Disasters,” “Noises Off,” and “Cock.” She made her acting debut in 2012’s “Second Marriage Dot Com.” Her second film, “Margarita with a Straw” (2014), starring Kalki Koechlin, brought her renown. She has acted in several Bollywood movies, such as “Fan” (2016), “Baar Baar Dekho” (2016), “Jolly LLB 2” (2017), and “Article 15.” (2019).
She has acted in Hindi short films such as “Shameless,” “The Proposal,” “Call Waiting,” and “Leeches” (2019). Her acting credits include roles in the Hindi web series Inside Edge (2017), Four More Shots Please! (2019), Posham Pa (2019), and Four More Shots Please! Season 2 (all of which she appeared in) (2020). She sang backing vocals and the song “Kahab To” for the soundtracks of “Four More Shots Please” (2019) and “Article 15” (2019).
