To back up the former worker, the film’s lead actress Kangana Ranaut also later accused Bahl of sexual misconduct. Nayani Dixit, Ranaut’s co-star in the film, then made similar claims against Bahl. Because of the sexual assault claim made against Bahl by another former employee of Phantom, the company declared its closure on October 5, 2018. Kashyap, Motwane, and Mantena, the other three founders, have all released statements on Twitter confirming the company’s dissolution and a transition to individual ventures. Subsequently, Phantom Films split, and its co-founders Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane issued public comments condemning Bahl’s sexual misconduct. In response, Bahl served them with legal warnings, saying that their words had defamed him.
