Siddhant Chaturvedi Early Life
Siddhant Chaturvedi was born to a Chartered Accountant mom and a farmer dad on April 29, 1993 (he is now 29 years old) in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. His mom stays at home to raise him and the siblings. He went to Mumbai with his family when he was five years old because he had always had an interest in acting.
Prior to his acting career, he planned to follow in his father’s footsteps and earn a Chartered Accountant degree, as he said in an interview. After winning the title of “Clean & Clear Bombay Times Fresh Face 2012” while still in school, Siddhanth decided to pursue a career in modelling. Martial arts and western classical dance are two more disciplines in which he has been schooled.
Siddhant Chaturvedi Career
Chaturvedi made a cameo in the 2016 season of Life Sahi Hai, a web series about four guys who share an apartment. The next year, he started playing Prashant Kanaujia, a teenage cricketer, on the Indian Premier League-inspired Amazon Prime Video web series Inside Edge. Devarsi Ghosh, writing for Scroll.in, called Chaturvedi and his co-star Tanuj Virwani the “two huge acting discoveries” of the first season. When season two began in 2019, he returned to continue in the role.
Zoya Akhtar, whose brother Farhan Akhtar produced Inside Edge, saw Chaturvedi at a party celebrating the show’s success and urged him to apply for her next directorial project, Gully Boy (2019), which would become his breakout role. In the film, which also starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, Chaturvedi played a supporting part as a street rapper named MC Sher, whose encouragement helps Singh’s character achieve his goals. “Impressive” is how Variety’s Jay Weissberg described Chaturvedi’s performance in his role, while “charming presence” is how Rajeev Masand described him. He was nominated for Best Male Debut and won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Next, you can catch Chaturvedi in the Yash Raj Films criminal comedy Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021), alongside Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Sharvari Wagh (2005). In the end, it was panned by critics and failed to sell well. He starred alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday in Shakun Batra’s infidelity drama Gehraiyaan (2022). It’s now available on Amazon Prime Video. The critic Sukanya Verma of Rediff.com called his performance of a “tricky part” intriguing. After that, he co-starred with Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter in the horror comedy Phone Bhoot. Even though critics were mostly underwhelmed by the film, NDTV’s Saibal Chatterjee said that Chaturvedi did a good job portraying his “brash and quick-on-the-draw” character.
