Siva Biography
Siva Education
Siva was born in the Indian city of Chennai to the documentary filmmaker M. Jayakumar. He is the grandson of A. K. Velan, the film director, and screenwriter. He has a brother named Bala who acts in Tamil and Malayalam movies. Siva has many famous kin, including the founder of Chennai Sai Sankara Matrimonials, N. Panchapakesan, and the Carnatic musician Vishaka Hari. He took up photography rather than pursuing his dream of becoming a filmmaker. Gold medalist at the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute class of 1998. The director of photography Jayanan Vincent hired him afterward. Once in Hyderabad, Siva took a job as an operational cameraman on Venkatesh’s film Jayam Manade Raa (2000).
Siva Early Life
A documentary photographer by trade, his father Jayakumar gave birth to him in Chennai on August 12th. His birth name is Sivakumar, but he goes by Jayakumar. Filmmaker Siva’s grandfather is A.K. Velan, a well-known producer, and author. Bala, a film actor who has appeared in Tamil and Malayalam films, is Siva’s sibling. A childhood ambition of his was to one day direct movies. After graduating from Adyar Film Institute with top honors in 1998, he won a gold medal. To fulfill his role as an operative cameraman in the 2000 film Jayan Manade Raa, he relocated to Hyderabad. Siva became a cameraman after his brother Bala made his acting debut.
Siva Career
“Souryam,” his debut feature film, was released in 2008. Both Gopichand and Anushka Shetty play major roles in the film. In 2009, he directed another film titled Gopichand. Siva’s first film in Bollywood was in 2011’s Siruthai. Karthi’s breakout performance in the film catapulted him to fame and helped him gain the moniker “Siruthai Siva.”
The 2012 Telugu film Siva directed, titled Daruvu, bombed spectacularly. Then, for the film Veeram (2014), he teamed up with another Kollywood superstar Ajith. Ajith had asked him to direct a story set in the countryside, and the response from Kollywood audiences was overwhelmingly positive. His next film was Vedhalam, Vivegam, which he also directed after Veeram’s massive success. The box office was kind to Vedhalam, while Vivegam bombed. Viswasam is Siva and Ajith’s fourth collaborative film.
