An Indian actor, comedian, impressionist, and television host, Suraj Vasudevan (born June 30, 1976), better known by his stage name Suraj Venjaramoodu, performs in Malayalam films, on television, and on stage. More than 250 films feature him as an actor. He portrayed humorous roles in many movies during the 2000s and into the middle of the 2010s, and he won the Kerala State Film Award three times for Best Comedian (2009, 2010, 2013).

He started experimenting in his latter career and had success in both starring and supporting roles. For his leading role in Perariyathavar, Suraj got the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2014. He received the Best Actor National Film Award at the 61st National Film Awards for the Dr. Biju-directed movie Perariyathavar. The film’s plot centred on a father and son who work for the municipality and the challenging circumstances they encounter. At a press conference to announce Suraj’s win, renowned filmmaker and jury chairman Saeed Mirza said: “Suraj’s performance [in the movie] as a municipal sweeper is wonderfully respectable. Suraj is best at comedy, but he did a fantastic job portraying a reserved character in this movie. If his name hadn’t been on the list of recipients, I wouldn’t have been able to go to sleep.”
