Thirumathi Selvam Story

The protagonist, Selvam, is a skilled technician. Since he is the primary provider for his family, he decides against getting married despite working hard. He stops school to help raise his younger siblings. However, his luck changes when he spots Archana in a temple and falls in love with her. Archana is a thoughtful, diligent, and generous person. Archana is ignorant because she was only able to complete up to the tenth grade of school before she had to quit because of her mother’s declining health. So, out of all her sisters, Archana was chosen as the one her parents adored the most. Since Archana’s mother, Sivagami, was set on marrying her daughter off to a well-educated man, he had no choice but to lie about his profession when he proposes marriage.

After the wedding, Archana learns the truth about Selvam’s lack of education and profession as a mechanic, and she grows to despise him for it. She initially rejects Selvam’s invitation to move in with him, but later comes to appreciate his affection and the goodness of his character. Selvam’s stepmother Bagyam cheats him out of his home and his mechanic’s workshop over time. When the couple has nowhere else to go, they wind up spending the night on the station before Selvam’s friend Siva comes to their rescue. One of Selvam’s other acquaintances, Nandhinee, pitches in to alleviate the couple’s plight and raise their level of living. Selvam, with the help of Archana and Nandhinee, works hard and, over time, achieves financial success and the position of chairman of the Car Dealers Association. Now that they’re married, the pair may settle down in a cottage.
