Chidiya Ghar Story
The late Mrs. Chidiya Kesari Narayan, the wife of retiring principal Shri Kesari Narayan, was honored with the naming of their home in Banaras as Chidiya Ghar. There’s Kesari, and his wife, their sons Ghotak and Gomukh and their wives Koyal and Mayuri, their son Kapi and his wife Chuhiya, their grandchildren Gillu, Gaj, Machar, Makhi, and their daughter Maina, their brother Mendak Prasad and his wife Naagin/Markatti, their son-in-law Totaram, and their daughter-in-law Billo. All of them have names that sound like those of animals, and they all share some trait with the animal to which their names refer. Kesari gives them lessons that will be useful to them in the long run after they’ve already dealt with the challenges associated with those lessons. They gave their settlement the name “Chidiya Ghar” in Kesari Narayan’s honor for all he did for the community. Dimak Chacha, Girgit Mausi, Bhed Vajpayee, Titli, Bhed and Girgit’s spouse Tommy, and Puppy, Tommy’s best friend.
