Verdict

Season 1 of this series established the characters and focused on the rise & fall of the main characters. Season 2 now showcases the other side of the leading characters with some new twist and turns in their political journey. Season 1 grabbed the attention as the premise looked interesting and the way it is narrated was intriguing, but season 2 lacks interest as narration looks flat and most of the scenes look predictable. But season 2 have it’s moments that will surely engage the audience at some point.

While it comes to acting, Huma Qureshi once again shines in the role of Rani Bharati. Sohum Shah was brilliant as usual, but the look of Soham was artificial and we can clearly observe that the moustache and beard of Soham are not real. The other positive for this season is undoubtedly Amit Sial. He did a fantastic job, showcasing all his acting skills. Kani Kusruthi, Pramod Pathak and all other actors did their part as required for the proceedings.

Technically this series looks okay. Music and background score of this series has less importance and was apt for the proceedings without any loud music. Cinematography was good in some scenes, but most of the shots from the series are designed very regularly. Production values of this political series are high and it is not that easy to communicate with such large crowds while shooting the scenes of political meetings.

Director Ravindra Gautam was partially successful in taking forward the interest created by season 1. But the director had some scenes well designed, that might grab the attention.

Overall, Maharani season 2 is a worth-watching political drama that reaches the expectations.
