Karthik Subbaraj entered Tamil film industry with the blockbuster ‘Pizza’ starring Vijay Sethupathi in the leading role that became a smash hit and was later remade into many other languages. After his blockbuster debut, he teamed up with actor Siddharth & Bobby Simha for the movies titled ‘Jigarthanda’ which is called a cult classic movie in Tamil, that also fetched a national award for Bobby Simha.

After the release of Jigarthanda audience and movie lover called Karthik Subbaraj as Indian version of Quentin Tarantino. After almost 8 years, Karthik Subbaraj has announced part two of this classic movie which is titled as ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’. Makers have released a video on YouTube confirming the commencement of shoot with the lead actors featuring in it.

Jigarthanda DoubleX digital rights information is yet to be announced by the makers and the movie is expected to tentatively hit the screens on 10 November 2023. Raghava Lawrence has created a mass image for himself with the movies like ‘Muni’, ‘Kanchana’, ‘Kanchana 2’, ‘Shivalinga’ and now working in the sequel of superhit ‘Chandramukhi’ in which talented actress Kangana Ranaut will be seen in a leading role. All his movies worked financially at Tamil box-office. He is not just an actor, but also a talented director who helmed movies like ‘Muni, Kanchana, Kanchana 2, Kanchana 3’ and few other Telugu movies.

Raghava Lawrence is seen in the role of a gangster from the teaser chased by many police, goons and some other people. We need to wait and watch how well Karthik Subbaraj will mange Raghava Lawrence as an actor, as we have seen Lawrence in mostly horror movies. This movie is aimed for a theatrical release and so makers haven’t announced any OTT release date so far.

SJ Suryah is last seen in the Amazon Prime original series “Vadhandi: The Fable of Velonie”. This series received tremendous response for it’s making and unexpected twists in the final episodes.

SJ Suryah is very happy with the response received from the audience for this series and with the same happiness will step into the shoot of ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’. Hope this combo will deliver another blockbuster like ‘Iraivi’. As of now makers haven’t announced any information regarding the satellite or digital rights  of the movie, as shoot of the film is still pending.

As the movie is yet to complete the shoot, makers haven’t revealed anything about the movie plot. But from the announcement teaser it is clear that ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’ will follow the same story line like that of first part, where the protagonist tries to film the life of a ruthless criminal facing all the odds. We need to wait for any official announcements from the team to know the detailed plot of the movie.
