Shergill attended St. Paul’s College in Lucknow, The Punjab Public School in Nabha, and Yadavindra Public School in Patiala for his education. Jimmy had declared his intention to enlist while still in school. He pursued a B.Com. at Bikram College, Punjabi University. After that, Jimmy chose to pursue his postgraduate studies at Post Graduate Government College – 11, Chandigarh, Panjab University.
