Mahaandhi Shankar’s education details are not available right now, In 2010, he starred in the Malayalam film Anwar, and in 2011, he starred in the Telegu film Bet. In Sokku Sundaram, he played a major hero who was accompanied onscreen by five leading ladies. Formerly known by his given name Shankar, Mahanadhi Shankar is a well-known actor in the Tamil film industry. The antagonistic roles his characters play in stories are what brought him fame. In his first film, Mahanadi, he played the role of the evil jail warden Thulukanam, who caused trouble for Kamal Hassan. Because of his outstanding work, he was eventually given the stage name Mahanadhi Shankar. Since then, he has acted in both comedic and villainous roles in a wide range of films.

Making his acting debut with Mahanadi (1994), he has since appeared in a number of other Tamil films of the ’90s, ’00s, and ’10s. He usually played antagonists or comical side characters. He referred to Ajith Kumar as “Thala” in the film Dheena. Fans of Ajith Kumar now refer to him as “Thala.”
In the 2009 Tamil action film Padikkathavan, starring Dhanush, Tamannaah, Vivek, and Suman, Mahanadi Shankar plays the role of Subba Rao. He will next be seen on screen in the 2019 drama/fantasy picture Jackpot, set for release on August 2, 2019. He portrayed ‘Drugs’ Ravi in the 2010 comedy film Thamizh Padam by C. S. Amudhan.
