Crime has become the main element in many movies that are releasing from past few years. Choosing the crime genre will give the makers an option to add more action that is loved by majority of audience. Michael has already gave a glimpse of action overdose we are going to witness, just with the release of trailer and you can expect the double impact of action from the movie.

Michael without any drag directly gets into the story and keeps us engaged for few minutes at the beginning, but it loses the pace after some time and movie feels little dragged with many dialogues making us feel more tedious. However movie picks up the pace once again during the interval and continues the same after the interval. With an expected climax movie ends on a mixed emotion to the audience watching the movie.

While it comes to performances, Sundeep Kishan has tried something new coming out of his comfort zone, but the actor looks routine with his performance that reminds of his previous movie’s performances. Divyansha Kaushik entertains with her glamour and has nothing much to do with her performance. Vijay Sethupathi and Gautham Vasudev Menon are major highlights of this movie. They have lit up many scenes with their performances. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is decent with her role and Ayyappa Sharma performance & dialogue delivery are very good. Varun Sandesh doesn’t suit the role and Anasuya can be ignored easily for her poor performance. All other actors did their part well as required for the plot.

Technically Michael movie looks good. Songs composed by Sam CS are not memorable, but were shot well. Background score composed by Sam is a plus point for this movie. Cinematography by Kiran Koushik was decent, but few shots look over saturated. DI could have been better. Production values are good and producers have spent enough money to bring good quality movie.

Director Ranjit Jeyakodi came up with a simple story that has been seen in many movies earlier, added with few twist and turns, but could have worked a little more on the screenplay and narration.

Overall, Michael is an action packed drama that can be watched for the way it was made. If you love Sundeep Kishan and his movies, you can definitely watch this movie in theatres.

Plus Points:

  • Background Music
  • Cinematography
  • Action scenes

Minus Points:

  • Slow Narration
  • Unwanted characters.

Rating: 2.75/5
