Whenever he and his friends would watch a movie together, he would analyse it thoroughly while they just watched for fun. His lifelong ambition was to serve as a film’s director. Bapu and his cousin Anil were working together to make Radha Gopalam. After being asked to by Bapu, he took up the role of clap director for the movie. It was from him that he learned a great deal. In the years that followed, he worked on and performed in a series of critically praised films like Allari Bullodu, Dhee, and Asthram.
