Thendral (SUN TV) Serial Cast, Timings, Story, Real Name, Wiki & More: This 2009 Indian soap opera, dubbed “Thendral,” aired on Sun TV from Monday to Friday and was performed in Tamil. Airing from 7 December 2009 until 17 January 2015, the show has a total of 1340 episodes. Shruthi Raj and Deepak Dinkar star in this play about a middle-class girl and her family that highlights the value of an education for women. Vikatan Televistas Pvt Ltd produced and S. Kumaran directed it. The previous show, Kolangal, which was also made by Vikatan Televistas, was cancelled.

One of the earliest Tamil serials to gain widespread attention online was Thendral. It’s been called the “first young prime time daily soap in Tamil” by the Indian newspaper Business Standard. Numerous accolades and honours have been bestowed upon Thendral. From December 10, 2018, the show has been airing again daily at 9:30 PM on the Vikatan Prime Time YouTube channel, after a gap of nine years. It will air again on Colors Tamil at 2:00 p.m. on May 16, 2022.

Thendral Story
The protagonist Thulasi is the centre of this show (Shruthi Raj). Thulasi’s father and stepmother disowned her after she was abandoned by her mother when she was a child to pursue financial gain. Grandma is the only person of her family that truly cares about her (S. N. Lakshmi). Thulasi’s primary aspiration is to continue her education after high school and become an engineer so that she may support her family. Muthumanikam a.k.a. Manikam, Thulasi’s father (Subhalekha Sudhakar), would love nothing more than to have his son Mohan (Ayyappan) follow in his footsteps and become an engineer, but financial constraints prevent this from happening. Since he is aware of this, a 40s break-in inspector and gangster named Velaayudam (Nizhalgal Ravi) approaches them with a proposition: he will help Manikam realise his ambition if he agrees to get Thulasi married to him. Manickam, out for himself, convinces Thulasi that only by marrying Velayudham can she atone for her mother’s sin of adultery.
