Tanya Ravichandran entered the world on June 20th, 1996 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Her parents’ names are Sriram and Lavanya Sriram. Apparajitha Sriram is her one and only sister. Both Apparajitha Sriram and Tanya Ravichandran are accomplished classical dancers. Tanya Ravichandran and Apparajitha Sriram were raised by their classical dancer mother, Lavanya Sriram, who often performed recitals in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, while the two were teenagers.

Actress Tanya Ravichandran, granddaughter of Malaysian Tamil actor Ravichandran, was inspired by her grandfather’s profession to pursue a similar path at a young age. After a successful audition in the early months of 2016, Tanya 1st was cast in a film to be directed by Mysskin, with fellow newcomer actor Maitreya playing the lead role. Abbirami was Tanya Ravichandran’s birth name, but in order to pursue an acting career, director Mysskin insisted that she change it to Tanya.
